Mesa filed a motion in court today to reject leases on their excess aircraft. The 16 200s were included in that motion. I don't how long this will take to pan out and what this means for us but I thought it was interesting that at least something is progressing.

So the new SIC bid has been posted on the website indicating an increase of 9 FO's. Awards will be posted on Feb 11 effective Mar 1.
Only thing that has me is say I submitted to change bases as my current base is not my #1 choice, isn't that less than contractal minimum for moving? Also, monthly bids would mostly be closing or ending by Feb 11 so I'd bid say for SBY even though I could be awarded MDT. I was never furloughed, just force moved out of base. I thought we needed 30 days notice (don't have my contract with me right now)?

How many vacancies were posted for LGA?
Also is anyone (at least does anyone know of someone) transfering to LGA? I'm just trying to get an idea if any of us recalls will be able to hold it (our old base)?

I'm digging this being based at home right now... just wish I could do an occasional ferry flight, and receive a paycheck.

Well then that would work out just perfect if Piedmont decided not to refurbish the 100's that are running out of time in 2011. I really hope they do because I would rather stay at Piedmont then take a pay cut and have to move but at least there will be something to fall back on. I am not too excited about it. Sounds like a place only slightly above GLA. They are currently in contract negotiations so hopefully they get something better than $21, $22, $23... for FO pay.
Base openings before realigment seems to be
CHO 1
EWN 2
LGA 1
MDT 3
ROA 2
SBY 0

Keep in mind probably the last 3 or 4 people in each base were no in their first choices so the vacancies posted have no indication as to where the recalls will go. I know of at least 3 people in SBY who want to go back to ROA. From what it looked like after the furloughs, ROA is the senior FO base, then CHO, EWN, SBY, LGA, then MDT. Don't know what it will look like after Feb 11 though.
Although if I was about to be recalled, I'd put in for LGA if I didn't live in any base so when they close it they have to pay for your move. Did that to a friend of mine when they closed SYR. We were new hires, they announced they were closing SYR. He had SYR as his first choice and when they posted our bases he was in SYR even though it was closing the following month. Company had to pay for his move.
