Do you guys think fast upgrades will still be around by the time the January-march classes finish sim? Any prediction for people hired around may and onwards?

Yeah Gonova hit the nail on the head. They are begging people to upgrade. I dont think that will change for a while.

At least 12 jet FOs are being bypassed from upgrading. The longest one is 2 FOs from Dec 2016 bid.

Email just went out to the pilot group informing that the EFB training portal is open. Once enough pilots complete the online training the EFB's get shipped.
Bold prediction: the April new-hires will never have to take their jepps out of the binders, except to update them.

Does anyone have advice on completing the new hire indoc/winter tests prior to class? To rephrase, is it something that you need to read through all of the manuals first, or can you just search through the questions? I didn't get any guidance on any of this. Thanks-

The search function is fine. The books are reference material not memorization material*

*some items actually have to be memorized, but training will let you know when you get there.

Default Part 135 to PDT

Hello All

Thanks in advance for your help. I am presently in the 135 world and looking to interview soon with PDT. Please could you help me out with a few questions.

Assuming I can start working May 1 -

How long is the training gonna be ?
How long is the reserve ?
Realistically how much time should I give myself to reach the 1000 hrs 121 time for an upgrade ? I presently have 4000 total time.
Can a commute from DFW work ? Are the lines commutable.
