This whole upgrade / flow / no rsv thing is a bit of a pyramid scheme. Everything remains rosy while there is growth. Lets not forget we have been in a up business cycle since 2009 - what happens with recession - music stops, upgrades stop, flow stops, misery rules all. This is not a new movie - its a rerun.
All true-- but you'd be a fool to sit around and wait. Get hired, sit longer than other regionals probably, but you're still gaining seniority. Upgrade and, unless it really hits the fan, you're still a captain.

Or, sit around and overthink, doubt what's happening in front of your eyes, miss out.

Not trolling - just can't figure this out (my ignorance)
Little reserve as in like a month, three max.

It works by cancelling more flights than you'd like due to crew availability and ****ing off American as a result hahah

We are fortunate these days to consider (or complain about) 2 or 3 months on reserve as 'long'.

That does not sound like a winning strategy. If I were a NH at PDT, I would rather sit reserve than have the airline (note signature at bottom of paycheck) be forced to cancel flights!
Not trying to be a teacher's pet - just playing the long game - whats good for the airline is good for the pilot.

Agreed. But I don't foresee it being a long term problem, just some growing pains. It'll all sort itself out with new management/more pilots. Just some interesting times with the new fleet and quick growth

Anybody else confused by the perm bid? How low did the list go for 145 Captain? Did all the slots get filled or were there vacancies? I can't figure out how to read it. Thanks for the translation!!

I didn't have to wait for a class date. As for the slight delay in training, I plan on picking up as much extra flying as I can.

13 unfilled captain slots on the 145 from what I gather. Any new hires coming in with 1000 121 will upgrade instantly. Short on captains.

I'm confused. You can't pick up any flying while waiting for training or am I not understanding you?
