Jackpot 😄 The jet lines are mostly decent in my opinion. I have mostly 3-4 days or more off between trips and commutable on both ends. 95 percent of the trips are 3-4 day trips. Some of the 11-12 day off lines have 5-7 day off stretches in the middle of them even.

Is PDT still manual scheduling?
Yes. You receive a bid packet (online also) with the lines available listed. You can bid online or manually via fax. Once the initial award comes out we have a 48 hour period where you can attempt to drop or switch trips for open time. Once the final award comes out, the reserve pilots who couldn't get a line can bid for pre-crafted reserve lines in a seperate bid.

Overall - does it work well for you? how about for NH FOs?
I'm sure you could scan and email to crew planning but the majority of people just enter their choices online and submit. 48 hour is also online. It works fine for me, been doing it 5 years now and on the jet there isn't much reserve at the moment so it works for NH also. The main complaint about pre-crafted lines is that they could be more efficient and lead to more days off. A lot of trips begin and end with one leg, for example. This makes them commutable but reduces the ability to add more credit and days off to them. The flipside would be less overall line holders and less commutable lines so it's a two-way street.
right?
if you can scan and email you can take the 3 minutes to fill out the bid sheet on the website and submit it after you do your sorting on the package offline.
48hr is the same way, go thru the listed trips see what you want to swap, drop/pickup, then put it on the online bid sheet and submit it prior to the end of the period.
It works as well as the effort you put into it and what the lines and open time are like.

Anyone know what PDTs next available interview / classdate are? Heard they may be loaded to capacity pending access to new sims.
Massive transition from Dash to EJ, combined with 3x growth to pilot population - gotta have some growing pains!

Being they have only one base - PHL - what % of the flight crews commute?
We have modified min day. The value of a single day cannot be less than 4 hours. If you deadhead one leg for example, you're getting 4hrs credit. 2 days are worth min 8 hours, 3 days 12 hours, 4 days 16 hours...no matter how little you fly. I would say 60 percent of crews are commuting in PHL. Others are driving 3-4 hours.
