Default Republic to reduce staff by 500 (10%)

Republic Airways Announces Personnel Reductions: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

Does anyone know if these are administrative positions, pilot/fa positions, or both?? Good luck to those involved.

Default WARN notices for RAH

Well, here we go, again. RAH employees just received CEO email stating WARN act notices will be going out to those affected by our need to furlough. No actual # or % in the email.

Below is a tidbit from his email:

"Thus, as a result of these unexpected and unforeseen business circumstances, we are making the hard decision today to furlough some of our employees in order to right-size our staffing levels to our current and expected flight levels.

Today, WARN Act notices are being sent to any employee (or their appropriate union representative) that maybe affected by these difficult staffing decisions. These include potential furloughees, employees that will be downgraded and employees that will be offered relocation to a different domicile."

Crap......stay tuned for details....and pray for us, as I have for everyone/every airline in this $hitty time.

PS -- His email did state that administrative positions will be realigned, as well as expenses. But I don't know if the 10% (500 employees) includes that, and his email didn't say "how many/what percent". Stay tuned. And THANKS for the well wishes/thoguhts.

Does that include Shuttle, or is Shuttle an entirely different operation?

Hang tuff. It was my privilege to fly with the fine crews at S5.

This will effect Shuttle S5, Republic RW and CHQ.

All three certificates are on the same seniority list, and same CBA. The bottom of the list is split pretty evenly across all three certificates.

It was fun while it lasted.

His email did not specify how the furloughs/WARN notices would effect the 3 certificates: Shuttle/Republic/Chautauqua. I would think furloughs will be across the entire system, all certificates. Don't quite know yet.

We share ONE master seniority list for pilots and ONE for FAs.....so I'm assuming it will be based on seniority as a whole, not individual pick and choose, one airline or the other kind of thing. I'm sure we'll all find out just how bad soon.

Damn it......I'm beginning to think I should just crawl under a rock until this $hit boils over (industry crunch). Maybe they won't find me there and I'll dodge the bullet. I'm hoping my nearly 3 years will aide in dodging the WARN bullet.

RAH doesn't (to my knowledge) have much of anything in terms of ground support staff. (rampies, gate agents, ticket agents)

Probably a lot of overlap between the 3 certs..so admin stuff in INDY i'd suspect.

Inflight/Mx is probably next :\

YA'LL NEED TO FIGHT THAT DOODOO if that's the case. It seems likely it will be, considering they're hurting on the Republic side more so than CHQ or S5!

I hear ya. However, the 145s are a goner before long, well that's what BB wants. CRJs, sooner, and those are ALL on the RP certificate. Plus, it seems it's getting harder and harder to find a market for them (ERJ 145, 140, 135/CRJ 200), if one at all. So I have a sneaky suspicion, only speculating, that if they TRY to pull that contract violation, it will be for RP and RW. It's my understanding S5 is doing much better.

But hey, what the hell do I know......I just go where they tell me and collect the kibbles on the 15th / last day of the month.
