TD copied and pasted part of a FAQ section that was released today. You can find it on your respective intranets. As said in the FAQ, CVG and CRP to close, along with CVG mx base.

Damn I knew it would happen eventually, but all this is coming on very quickly. Good luck to all...hopefully we all make it though this one way or another.

If CVG is your guys 135 base, where your DCI 145 base? I thought it was a base for both?

i guess they are going to feed cvg through cmh sdf ind stl and buf. for some reason they think its easier to run an airline through outstation bases than hubs. now the cvg crews based there also fly the 145 and the other people doing delta trips can fly the 135.

They separate the bases out by aircraft type. DCI flies the 135 and the 145. Since the majority of flying outta CVG is on the 135 it's considered a "135 base" even though you'll get 145's flying in and out of there. It's basically a way to screw some guys over on pay (since the 135 pays less).

No, airTran does it as well; apparently their contract states that before one pilot can be furloughed they have to fire the retired pilots in the training department. So instead of firing the training department they fire the probationary pilots. This is more than likely what’s going to happen to their furloughs…………sad.

BTW, I fly airTran twice a week between ATL and SFO, PHX or LAX. This has been confirmed many times by many different crews. They have been fantastic to me and very hospitable. I respect their pilot group and I hope the SWA rumors end up being true, for their sake.

I'm positive that others will do or have done the same.

I have seen some of those on climbto350.com, but honestly I value my family and friends much more than a flying job. I'd be happier selling TVs at Best Buy
