This was a planned reduction (as a Xjt'r confirmed) so this is business as usual and is being conveyed to the public. DL has publicly said they want 4, yes FOUR regionals POST MERGER. This does NOT count the wholly owned of Comair, Mesaba, and Compass. So look at the current list and you can see where this is going. XJT was planned and well known about as far as coming off the list.

We can almost assure these (off the top of my head)

-Comair
-XJ (Mesaba)
-Compass

1. Republic (170's)
2. Skywest
3. ASA
4.? Pinnacle- the -200's are in the contract with merger protection, -900's are a maybe and we will leave it at that. We did get new routes posted on DL for flying in September so who knows about July 31st.

Contenders (with contracts I may add)
Pinnacle (900's)
Mesa (injunction/contract/performance)

I know I am missing some... which ones?
your saying Comair is to be cut? or stay? Delta needs someone to feed JFnk

Comair is at the top of the list of STAYING if you look at my post again. I fully expect the wholly owns to stick around for flying but I could see them spun off in time.

I think he was saying that outside of the wholly owned Comair and soon Mesaba and Compass those listed would be the contract DCI carriers. Delta will just continue to treat us like a red-headed stepchild.

It's really sad to see a great company with such inovative ideas to stay competitive get bounced around the way you guys have beeen.
For those of you at other airlines lets wish the men and women at XJT the best, and let's extend that to all air carriers as well.
I still believe you guys have a winning concept, and I hope time will grant you that opportunity to show the industry that winning attitude.

All the best!!!!
Thanks, mach. You sound like a class act. Where are you at now?

It was inevitable, all the flights that I jumped on were mostly empty, including the short flights. I also heard from a buddy that the Mexico flights weren't any better. You can't make any money with 25 Pax on a 145 It's unfortunate, DAL XJ really had the best service, unfortunately service doesn't go with profits these days.

Only as long as DAL and UAL stay out of BK.

I can see what you are saying- a little confusion with multiple lists and such. I do NOT think the "New Delta" will be able to get by with only Comair, Mesaba, and Compass. On the Delta side Skywest and ASA will remain (contracts + amount of flying). Republic would conceivably stay due to the -170's. Pinnacle does over 30% of NWA's domestic feed and are the only non-wholly owned on the NWA side. I can see PNCL's -900 options being used and the contract provision to swap -200's for -900's (meaning no net gain of airframes but more -900's and less -200's in the fleet makeup). XJT will be under continental only.

Did I miss anybody?
