Wow, you need to chill. You're taking what I said in completely the wrong way. OBVIOUSLY I don't want to see more pilots on the street. When I said what I "hoped" would happen was what I "thought" would happen. Take it easy. BTW, you got that mixed up. Yes, I do have my CFI, and no, I didn't take a CRJ course.

no the mentality of "screw those guys at least i will get my job" mentality that you exhibited in your post. People have families and have a real need for those paychecks that are coming in... wishing ill will upon another member of your profession is just a little bit of karma that will come right back around to you. This isn't little league anymore... its peoples careers, families, and livelihoods.
I feel for the XJT men and women. Your company has managed to weather so may storms it' s amazing that your still standing. I applaud you guy's. I graduated from Kent State University, and have many alumni at EJT, so I really have an empathy for what your going though. I really do hope you all fare well. It's really sad to see a great company with such inovative ideas to stay competitive get bounced around the way you guys have beeen.
For those of you at other airlines lets wish the men and women at XJT the best, and let's extend that to all air carriers as well.
I still believe you guys have a winning concept, and I hope time will grant you that opportunity to show the industry that winning attitude.
All the best!!!!

Why don't you back that up?? And, like has been mentioned before, the DL flying was originally short-term in duration anyway. Nothing unexpected here. And don't forget either, that many of XJet's routes were historically SKW's. I know I'm not alone when I say we're sorry to see 'em go...
You must be a Skywest God.

No prob, man. I can get carried away on occasion too, especially when I feel like I'm being attacked for a misunderstanding

The answer to all of this is with the legacy carriers MEC's. They need to lay down the law to management that they get no more than 2 regionals that work on behalf of XXX. Then legacy carrier XXX gets flow back and flow through with those regionals.
I'm sure, like always, the legacy pilots will come back with the 'ol, "They'll want us to give up something to get that and we don't want to do it."
Ok, enjoy the furloughs while the 4-8 regionals take up the flying.
This started at the top and it must end with the legacy pilots. This will, in fact, weed out some regionals but that has needed to happen for a long time now.
