Your Favorite Controller
#151
My favorite controller is my son. He works for Chicago Center and does the Bradfords/Benkys. 132.22 I've talked to him several times. Usually he gives me direct Benky and 320 kts. One time he had to put me in holding because AF one was in ORD. But we were the first out, even though there were two others holding below us.

I haven't been there in awhile, but I love the LGA Controllers.
We had a scheduled 2+ hour sit at LGA so we went up to the Tower. I have >15K hours and I was AMAZED at what I could learn from these people.
The woman giving us the tour asked if I wanted to join her on freq when she took over Local. I thought, "Not really, I've heard it all, but it seems polite to do so."
She talked to Approach, Landing aircraft, Ground, Departing aircraft, Departure AND me with such ease and grace it astounded me.
It probably makes me a tool, but I would love to go to certain Towers just to observe. MDW, DCA, LAX, LGA (again - for 4 hours this time), TEB would be cool for the mix of aircraft. I haven't been to DFW or ATL enough to know their airport, but those might be cool as well.
I don't know if it would be exciting or frightening to go to PVR, CUN or especially MEX towers. I haven't been overseas, I'm sure they have some fascinating and unique Towers as well...
What do you guys think the best Towers to observe for learning and entertainment would be?

Oh, and after running a sim for 8 years many years ago, I pride myself on my high speed, short approach vectors (if the crew is able) but it ain't quite the same.
I can freeze, skew, double or quadruple the speed, and worst case scenario, no one dies.

Years ago, MKE Tower typed "How you doooin" into the voice synthesizer at the beginning of the ATIS. I liked that.
