Default Question about luggage in the EMB120

I'm starting training on the emb120 in a few weeks here and was getting ready for it.

Will the 22 inch with the computer fit in the emb120? How is it for commuting?

Also, what are you bro guys using for a flight case for the jepps/ headset etc.....

ok from what I have learned from JetJock, among others is not much fits in the BRO...learned first hand on day 1 of IOE.

I got a 30 dollar little bag from Mervyns to put my jepps, SOP and my headset, among other little stuff..(and the PSP) in my bag that fits above the "jepp briefcase" on my side. As for rollerbags i just went to Macys and got a black rollerbag for $80 and put it in the back. IT WONT FIT in the closet.

Really for me it becomes whatever is comfortable for you to tote around the airport. Even after Sims, IOE and now my first month of reserve on the BRO I feel like I am carrying too much non important stuff. Anywho... thats my opinion on it my two months of life on the Bro... OH AND FIND A GOOD FLASHFLIGHT... I went to REI and got a good LED one for pretty cheap.. would seem i could use it for a landing light if need be.

It will fit in the ones with the larger bins, or under the last row of seats in a forward galley plane but if the plane has the smaller bins then you're out of luck. I have one of those, not the computer one though, and I just throw it in the cargo hold. I've never had a problem. not sure about putting a computer in it though. I use my old zephyr flight bag from days gone past for my jepps headset etc... some people use various flight bags from sporty's etc... the larger jepp cases like the jet guys use are too big. the 22 inch PNT is a freaking tank. good choice.

Get it! Good bag and thats what I got. My bag looks like it went through bomb testing after a year and it still is going strong execpt for one zipper on the side. It will fit in an overhead but you will most likely be throwing in the cargo bin. I had an old softside bag (Sportys headset case) I used for the headset...Jepps....ect but finaly ripped out. I moved to the big leather flight case that will fit in....... if you play a little tetris with it but dosen't leave you much room. Good luck and have fun in class I will be there as well in a few weeks! The Bro is a blast to fly!

Was on the EMB-120 for three years. I refuse to call it the "bro". I dont know where that name came from and I think it's ghey. Anyways sounds like you will be at SkyWest. With that said, you will be doing multiple aircraft swaps a day...........as many as the amount of flights you have for that day (sometimes) Dont worry about your overnight bag because with the amount of RETARDED and no sense making aircraft swaps they give you, you will probably end up just throwing it in the cargo compartment. Get one that you are comfortable with. I had one that fit in all the overheads but after 8 legs and three or four aircraft swaps, you will end up just leaving it on the gate check cart to be thrown in the back (You will get a yellow CREW tag on it) and the rampers will toss it in the back. Just get one you like and you are comfortable with is all im saying.

Long live the "BRO"..................Brasilia

The bag will fit in both the large and small overhead bins. If you are based in SLC you will make very few aircraft swaps during the day......

This 22" bag is MUCH, MUCH lighter than the PNS bag. Made out of aluminum. Cheaper, too.

If you can fit your bag in the overhead bin I would do it. I've had some bad experiences with rampers leaving my bag out in the rain while we are on a two hour turn. Also they get beat up a lot faster back there. I do my best to keep it in the cabin and it still looks new after a year.
I don't bring my computer anymore either. Bought an iPod touch that has wifi. Great for checking email, skywestonline, etc. without the risk of taking it onboard or the hassle of taking it through security.

Have fun.

I forgot to add that I'd be commuting from KDFW, hence the 22", I wanted to make sure that I could fit it in the overhead bin.
