We have like 3 times that many...it is pretty rediculous

How can there be no test on memory items and limitations? Every pilot has to know the limits of his/her airplane. I don't understand how a trainee is not tested on them.

Its the honor system:
<instructor>: "You know your memory items and aircraft limitations?"
<student>: "Yup, got 'em down"
<instructor>: "Okay, here's your temporary ticket. Call if you haven't gotten your real one in 120 days"

True, alot are the same from what I remember on the Saab and the E175. The only one that took time was the dual engine failure on the Saab. I think it was 10 items or so.

If that's true, then we're just asking for trouble. You know some baffoon is going to blow it off if that's the case.

On the other hand, it could and will come back to haunt them in the oral if they didn't take the time to get them down pat.

Anytime you put anything on the honor system, someone is going to take advantage of it and exploit it. I say test away!!! I don't believe that you need to know the stuff word for word (ie. push instead of press, etc...), but you need to know it regardless.

all you need to know is when there is a emergency let the captain handle it and/or put your head inbetween your legs and you know the rest. not that hard right. couldn't resist...... and just study you'll be fine

At Pinnacle my oral examiner went line by line down every limitation and then grabbed the QRH and asked every memory item. Prior to this we had a written test, memory items need to be 100% verbatim. Just suck it up and study.
