Poor Pinnacle is right...a good name for this thread.

After the mention of our x'celed DAL flying (or it's attempt), I just got a call from someone at 9E who dropped the "F" bomb on me. He is on the phone right now trying to confirm. Oh crap. We could be talking 500 pilots here boyz and girlz. I hope this is a joke.

hahahaha!! this is your first post? right now there are no plans of furlough. Also there are only a total of 72 pilots in atl. we still dont have enough to cover the nwa flying we have so why would we furlough nearly half of the pilot group?

your first post is a post of hysteria! way to come out flaming!

Everybody just relax and take a deep breath. As you yourself say, it's an "attempt' by DAL. IF the contract is cancelled, IF 9E isn't able to find a different home for the planes and IF permanently understaffed 9E announces furloughs, THEN push the panic button.

Everyone just chill for a minute.

Sorry! Yes and I do like to make an entrance! But I'm not used to getting calls like that from someone who I trust here at 9E...but it felt GOOD to jump right in.

Sorry man, nothing personal. I just find the two schools of thought interesting:

1) How dare they cancel our contract with Delta? Our performance is GREAT. We do a great job for them and it is everyone's fault but the Pilot's if a flight is late.

2) We need a new pilot contract, so lets put the pressure on! "Fly Safe" and delay as much as possible - that will show them who is boss.

Not trying to start anything, just pointing out the interesting interplay of the different ideas express on these boards....

I'm very pro union but this babble about delaying flights because you're in negotiations is ludicrous. If you have strong performance and profitability you have much more bargining power. When your company is doing poorly because of a unofficial work action you don't have a leg to stand on to demand a better contract.
