No he will go to Burger king. Burger King just signed a failsafe 10 year contract for Coca Cola products, while Mcd's is up for renewal, they are thinking of switching to a 3 year Pepsi contract.

you would have to be blind to think thats why asa got their contract. give me a break. you know how long asa had been without a contract? do you know how long their performance numbers were the bottom of the industry? obviously you dont.

yup, and they were worse in the last couple months of negotiations

Don't bother with him, Moon, he won't believe what is true. He seriously thinks it was Jerry at Skywest that got them the contract. The reason ASA got the contract was because they started the Fly Safe campaign and put the screw to management. Gas costs a lot these days, hopefully the guys at Pinnacle can start to fly safe as well, I would guess a new contract in... 1 month.

let me put it another way for you...
I'm from UND, so as you know, I most likely am from Minnesota as well. Now I didn't want to go to Mesaba or Pinnacle so I waited until I could get on with ExpressJet/Skywest or whoever had decent pay. However, there are many people that went to UND who are complete aviation "tools", I know I used to be one until I was "awaken" to the reality of what regionals have been doing. UND does a horrible job at relaying the history of the regionals, probably because certain regionals would stop offering preferential hiring to our grads and thus reduce enrollment.

I have plenty of friends at XJT and Eagle who called me in the last 2 months wanting to know if we're still hiring at 9E...because the XJT guys were worried about shutting down (a threat which is over for now) and the Eagle guys are worried about getting furloughed (a very real possibility).
As for our contract negotiations, I think a 99% strike vote and a labor-friendly President are a better bet in the current environment than a safety campaign...and even though ASA has great rates now, I'm not sure how they're gonna fare post-merger...precisely because they have great rates.
Survive through the merger, then get a new NMB, then go on a safety campaign or strike...that seems the most logical order of things to do right now. Go ahead and say I'm "contributing to the downward spiral."

I agree with POPA... You probably got turned down by both 9e and XJ. I for one am glad you went to XJT, we have enough of your UND friends here at XJ. I now I've had my fill of being a LCA for no extra pay. Since we are currently offering TOWOP, maybe you could call up some of the people you know at XJ and invite them over to XJT- maybe they could use the extra money. That would make many long time XJ Pilots very happy!
