XJT & CAL Reach 7 year CPA

I just really disagree with how you apply whipsawing. The Regionals are contractors, contracts go up for bid. True "whipsawing" happens at Holding Companies with multiple certificates. I'm still curious about what you think could be done differently.
How can you "end" CPA's? Do we all go back to at-risk flying and codeshares?...not with fuel prices this high.
Unless all flying goes back to mainline; in that case, you're preaching to the choir, maybe that's why we're all confused.

so what do you call what happened to comair or air wiski when they were told take paycuts or we our losing flying. it may have not been an internal whipsaw but they were being whipsawed none the less.
did you know that cal offered all 275 jets to you last time around but you would have only broken even. it would have made more sense to close up shop and take the money in the bank and run. the only way you could have made money was to ask for pay cuts. you're getting whipsawed you just haven't been asked to take paycuts yet.
