XJT & CAL Reach 7 year CPA

i'd say there's a possibility that they found other ways to "cut the costs"....than to simply find lower pay...that'd be a truly drawn out and long process, and i'd have doubts that the Xjet union would have gone for it....they don't seem like the type to sell out just to be "secure" for a minute.
Congrats Xjet guys, really glad to hear the news....

HOUSTON, June 5, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Continental Airlines [CAL] today announced that it has reached a new seven-year capacity purchase agreement with ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. to provide regional jet service for Continental Airlines "at rates that are lower than rates under its current agreement and more competitive" with those offered by other regional service providers. The new agreement is effective July 1, 2008.

Can't think of a more deserving pilot group/company! Correct me if i'm wrong, didn't CAL negotiate something with Skywest, or was that just something to get XJet to lower their rates to whatever (40% i think) savings SKW was heralding?

Reading the Continental Daily News update, it said the 39 frames will go in to replace the 135's. So I guess we'll be seeing alot more XR's back in CAL colors. Obviously this is the last nail in the coffin for branded, but it does look like DAL will be left intact.

How many planes do you have flying on the Delta side? Every where I go there is always one of your planes taxing in or out. There everywhere out here on the westcoast! Thanks

24, but I heard some say recently that we have number 25 on it's way, 10 on a CPA and the rest pro-rated.

I'm just really glad that now not only are we going to return to profitability and stability, but we also have an opportunity to grow in the future with other partners....and the best part is we didn't have to sell our contract out for it.
Cheers
