Pinnacle news this week....

There's a lot of absurdities in the airline industries like the CEO of NWA getting $47 million dollar bonus after the bankruptcy so we all know if it will make them money NWA will sell their grandmothers. But this is about as far fetched as any rumor I've heard so far. NWA is not likely to divest Mesaba with its solid infrastructure to 9E when they have been having problems with 9E going their way. No Major wants to make any one regional that big. On the other hand, Compass is a virtual airline because it has no infrastructure to speak of. They are at the corner of the Mesaba building. So they would be a logical choice for sale but, NWA pilots want Compass as a protection.
I do agree that some Regionals will be diminished and some will increase a little. I don't think the time is ripe for selling Mesaba or Compass or for that matter Comair.

Awwww....we could all be one happy family...when we go on strike you can come with us!!! At least I don't think anyone over at Mesaba would be willing to cross the picket line....Now Would You!!!.......
(Warning the preceding was meant to be a joke....All Mesaba pilots need not worry....because I was only joking...Or am I?)

Whenever I jumpseat on Pinnacle, Pinnacle pilots have been courteous and good to me. I try to accomodate all Pinnacle pilots on our aircraft with the same courtesy. We just need to improve our work rules and pay for both Pinnacle and Mesaba. Both pilots need to stand together if the combo does occur. Maybe the flowthru will go along with the purchase.

Ok.....I guess since nobody came up with this idea, I'll be the first one.
About 9E buying XJ, I've heard a rumor similar to that one, but who knows, "it won't happen 'till it happens...."
My guess is if this deal happens, PNCL corp will keep both certificates separate for a while. Why merge both pilot groups and give them more bargain power? If 9E strikes, XJ could pick up some of our flying. Legally, PNCL can't just transfer flying to XJ, but you know who can? NW, if they find a clause for 9E breaching their contract(with the strike). Also remember, NW has a ASA with XJ before the purchase, so there's not much that the UNION can do if PNCL corp.(as XJ's Holding corp.) and NW makes a new deal under the table.
Now this off course it's a little out there, but remember crazy things had happened before in this industry, and will continue to happen.
At this point we all know how nasty PNCL is willing to play.
This is just something that crossed my mind........ who knows what's going to happen but for some reason, this rumor, if true, doesn't make me feel much comfortable, and I'm sure XJ guys won't be much happy having PNCL corp. as their new "daddy"

What do you mean no infrastructure? Compass has a full headquarters in Chantilly, VA. The only thing we have in MSP is a couple classrooms for qround school, and a few HR people for interviews and such.
