One of my neighbors has been at SWA 14 years. And has made more than her Husband for a while now. Over 5 years at least. He's a Captain on a 747 ACMI outfit.
She said she makes around 85K the last four years.
That's almost triple what my FA friend makes at Delta!
And then the Brain Washed DL FA'S turn down the AFA. Idiots.

"Air traffic controllers rank No. 1 on this list with the top 10% earning $141,860 a year.
Perched in a tower overlooking the airport, the air traffic controller regulates and controls commercial airline flights to ensure flight safety. The average annual salary is $107,780, while the median annual salary is $112,930. Illinois is the highest-paying state for this occupation. O'Hare International Airport, based in Chicago, Ill., is one of the busiest airports in the world."
This is very misleading as well. The controllers earning 140k are old timers on the older contract... and even then you'd have to be in some kind of supervisory position in a level 12 center, after many years of service. I don't believe new controllers will ever see that kind of money with the new payscale. As far as being perched on a tower overlooking the airport, few towers across the country are level 11, the vast majority are lower paying levels, and thus most tower controllers could never see 6 figures.

At SWA FAs can easily earn more than six figures easy by working the schedule right. Since they aren't restricted in putting strings of trips togther, I've met several FAs that have put together over 200TFP for a month while keeping a decent number of days off. They have all kinds of "unique" clauses. On duty more than 12 hours?...they're paid 2 times their rate. On duty for over 12:30 getting back to domicile and have a trip the next day?..paid at 1.5 times the rate. On duty over 16 hours...paid 3 times their rate. Less than 10 hours of rest on an overnight?..everything pays 2 times the rate. With those kind of rules it's not hard to bring in some cash. My wife is a FA at SWA and during her first 6 months not even working that much she was making more than I did as a third year FO (36/hr) at CHQ. It can be done, but the article is just like all the ones as pilots we complain about..."The top pilots earn over 200K a year...."

I know an FA at SWA that made 125 grand five years ago. The FA system at SWA is actually easier to maneuver than the pilots. Flight attendants have multiple opportunities to make time and a half every month. Plus the company often offers time and a half during the month when they are desperate to cover trips.
There are plenty of FAs that make more than the new FOs..........its amazing that the FAs make more to serve Coke and Sprite than the regional pilots make to fly the plane!!!!! Nothing against FAs.......but its crazy that the pilots at a regional make so little and have so much responsibility!

SWA FA's clear 100k
I talked to an SWA FA about this when I was commuting. She said that the way they work it is to drop their trips, and then pick it up after 24 or 48 hours added to another trip and the entire time they pick up is time and a half. SWA flight attendants with seniority who work a lot easily clear 100k. That's why they are so happy and give commuters a whole can .
