ASA Long Call Reserve Question
#11
I've been here over a year and still on reserve with the 700. It looks like it takes about 16 months to hold a solid line. That is you shouldn't be bumped back to reserve due to the more senior guys that come over to the aircraft once in a while. Now times are different and the movement is as much as before. Seems to be about 5 numbers a month on the 700. Not really sure where they are going but that's fine with me. Im going to stay optimistic in the fact that hiring will pick up once again in the next year or two.

Long Call is much better. With a twelve hour call out you can just lead a normal life, you can pretty much be a 3 hour flight away and you can still make it to the airport in time. If you are an ATR pilot that means a 3 week vacation most likely untill they change it to short call at the end of the month. What's more important is that you can be drinking at the pool, they can call you and it's totally cool. If you were to get a call on long call it usually comes days in advance.
