Jumpseat flowback on Mesaba???
#2
Fairly new to Mesaba, and I do not quite understand your question, but Mesaba has unlimited jumpseating for CASS members as I understand it. Its also my understanding in normal circumstances, if the jumpseat is taken, then the flight is full anyway.

The only time the jumpseat would be taken (other than a full flight) is during a line check or if a newhire wants to observe. In those cases anyone on the approved jumpseat list can take a seat in the back. Unless for some reason (always an issue on the Saab) weight and balance will not allow a full flight to go out.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I was told that non-Mesaba pilots can only ride in the jumpseat if available. In other words, if a Delta pilot wanted to jumpseat, but the jumpseat was taken by a line check airman, a Mesaba pilot, or anybody; the Delta pilot would not be allowed to board even if there were 20 open seats in the back. Is that true or can the Delta pilot "flowback" into the cabin if it's available?

If someone is making policies up, just politely show them your FOM, page 9.3.7 (9.3.F): Cabin Jumpseating. It's unlimited.
