AE Job Fairs
I was planning on attending the job fair at ORD on June 21st. Had a few questions...What is the whole process of the job fair? What kind of questions do they ask in the 'pre-screening interviews'? If I dont make it past the pre-screening stage for whatever reason, am I barred from re-applying for another 6 months? Is anybody else planning on going to this event?

"What is the whole process of the job fair?"
I went to one last month and it was very laid back and the recruiters I thought were very friendly and professional. Its a long day if you are selected to stay around for all of it. I was there from 10am to almost 6, 90% of which was filling out paper work or staring at the walls. But its worth it if you make it through the process. Heres the day: 2 hr. presentation, mini interview and review paper work (make sure you complete the app online ahead of time) and bring copies of resume, license, medical, fcc, passport, etc. copies are not required for the job fair but if you have them, they will collect them and it shows you really came prepared. Then if they like you, you get asked to return after lunch. Its like an hour break. After lunch you will have the tech and h.r. interview. Read the gouges, they are dead on. (willflyforfood, aviationinterviews, mypilotcareer, etc) Then if you get through all that you schedule a date to go to dallas for the sim and medical part.
"What kind of questions do they ask in the 'pre-screening interviews'?"
Brief flying background, current job, I can't remember its like 5min and just convince them you are ready for and want the interview. Complete paperwork will show this too.
"If I dont make it past the pre-screening stage for whatever reason, am I barred from re-applying for another 6 months?"
No.....many were told to get more time or get current and contact them as soon as they got that however if you make it through to the actual interviews and then get sent home, I'm not sure.
"Is anybody else planning on going to this event?"
Definately go.... its worth it if eagle is where you want to be.
Hope this helps.

I didn't do the sim yet, I'm scheduled for the 13th of May for that part. I have a current job commitment through the end of may so there was really no rush since I couldn't accept a class date till june anyway or should I say transition course date cause thats what I'm planning on assuming the sim goes well and the captains board gives me the thumbs up.
How was the sim? From what I gather its not something I should be too stressed about.

The Sim is a Frasca 142, THE MOST SENSITIVE SIM EVER!!!!!! good luck holding altitude don't worry about using the rudders it will only make things worse
As far as the Job Fair thing- I went to the LAX Air inc job fair what was it like??
HHHUUMMMM- I got there at 10 when it opened stood behind 2 people; talked to 2 recruiters for about 5 minutes reviewed my resume and they ok we will send you an invitation to dallas for the interview
I totally over stressed about the job fiar and the interview and the sim
t almost seems like if your logbooks are in order, you have a level head, can fly simple IFR stuff and the feel like they can sit in the cockpit with you for a few hours you will get the job
Don't over think they just want someone that is safe and they can get along with other pilots\
good luck

I would definitely suggest going to the job fair. It's a lot more laid back than the actual interview in Dallas, I think. The people that interviewed in Dallas seemed to be grilled a little more.
Sim was alright. I had the full motion sim. It was a blast.

I dont know where you heard that, but thats ridiculous. AE is reducing the ERJ flying in MIA, but ATRs will still be doing the same amount of flying (if not more) than they have been. AE has an ATR base in MIA. Jets are not based there.

I didn't go to a job fair but based on what I heard when I interviewed in dallas, it was much less stressful then doing the tech and hr in dallas.
The person I spoke to, who was just down in dallas to do the sim daid about 40 were at the one in chicago about a month ago and after lunch only about 20 were still there, mainly because of errors with their logbooks.
BE PREPARED TO WAIT!!!! Got to the interview in dallas at 6:45AM and didn't leave the HQ till 9:00PM!
