I don't see how it can... there are 34 more e-jets coming within the next year.

It all depends...companies expanding like RAH or SKW will have to start hiring again sooner than those such mine (XJT) as we are not expanding (for now). That being said, it mainly depends on how much capacity is cut from each company, which in turn is contigient upon their major-partners, and where they are cutting the flying out of (see MAG out of MCO).

It's all a cycle, and after this merging mania passes, and after the fuel crisis passes, you will see a hiring boom again...oh and don't forget age 65, which did a number on everyone as well. Cheers.

Take a chill pill everyone...

We are still hiring. Just not enough sim time to go around, hence the backup.

But the fuel-crisis will not only not go away, but will continue, and progressively get worse...

The fuel crisis is what it is, but other countries have been operating aircraft on expensive fuel for years. The airlines here will just have to adapt, and the ones that don't will fall. Still another thread that was about hiring that turned to a fuel debate. On the subject the rjet website has a first officer job posting that was just added on the 15th so unless they called hiring quits in the last few days I would say things are still looking up. Like Jacks said there are more people that need simulator training than there are simulators available.

We're still hiring. However there aren't enough 170 sims between S5 and RP to keep things going smoothly. I was in the Feb class at S5 and already have more than 200 people below me on the seniority list across all three certificates. The two (now three) sims in STL are running 20-22 hours per day. As they get caught up the people being put in the pool will get calls fast.

I just had a soon-to-be former freedom guy in my j/s a couple days ago who was placed in the pool. Yes, we're still hiring.

Fuel Crisis What Fuel Crisis.. the Dollar is WEAK and if I am not mistaken oil is traded in Dollars so if the dollar is weak it takes more dollars to buy a barrel of Oil.. then everything rolls down hill, we need an government that will foster innovation and stimulate the economy not the $300 check from uncle bush either cause we know most people either took that money to walmart or put it under the Bed, once we get out of the RECESSION things will start to pick up,

Hey a guy can be an optimist

Yeah, it was all a figment of our imagination…fuel prices never went up, the housing crisis never happened, what deficit? Oh and why does the fed keep cutting the rates? What do those guys know?
