i had the same issue yesterday in cmh except i wasnt commuting i was trying to work. I was going to the delta gates on the C concourse and the tsa agent asked who is chautauqua? I looked at her and was just stunned. I told her we fly for all the airlines here and practically own the place with shuttle and Republic. Thankfully one of the other tsa agents said that we fly for delta and she let me through.

I had it happen to me at BWI. I work for AWAC and I was trying to get into one of the SWA terminals. He didn't know who AWAC was, made me get a security doc and of course I was a selectee.

According to a recent e-mail from ALPA national, the TSA agreed to begin testing of Crewpass soon with dates and locations to be announced. IMO if it ever happens, it will probably apply only to working pilots in uniform. Which begs the question how would they know if you're working or commuting if you're in uniform? Honor system? Kind of like skipping securtiy in ATL (if based there) is permitted only if you're going to work, not commuting or personal travel. Thoughts?

The TSA had a new one for me in CLE a couple weeks ago. Instead of just looking at my crew ID, he had me take it out of the plastic holder on my lanyard and sat there bending it and looking at it like he thought it was fake. Spent more time on my ID then on the regular passengers DLs.

When the rest of the crew and I went through security they pulled one of our flight attendants bag to manually check it because she did not take her DVD player out. They told her they treat them the same as laptops. She said "oh... I go through security at a lot of airports and I've never been told that before. Is that just a CLE thing and why don't your people announce that to the people in line when they yell about taking out laptops?" You would think our FA reached back and slapped the TSA lady across the face with the look she got after questioning the screener's "authority." Anyone else having DVD issues now?

My biggest beef with the TSA is they are slow, rude and they can't manage to be consistent from airport to airport, let alone 2 different checkpoints in the same terminal! How does this make us secure?

Make us secure? Is that what they are trying to do?

Default It happened to me

I was trying to jumpseat home on JetBlue out of JFK. The ticket counter was slammed and one of the JB reps asked if I would just go to the customer service counter in the sterile area.

So the TSA stops me and states that I can't go beyond the check point even though I'm in uniform with my badge because I don't fly for JB.

Fortunately for me, there was a JB employee and computer right next to the check point. She heard the issue and just printed me a seat request right there on the spot.

THOSE ARE YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK FOLKS!

I am pretty sure if you list for the jumpseat at the ticket counter, it's pretty much a guarantee you won't have the selectee designation on your jumpseat pass form. Someone should back me up on that though.
