How come I keep seeing thread of Mesa going down the drain but yet they're still hiring left and right? Can someone educate this newbie?

Can't make any profit to pay all the people they owe money to unless they have pilots to fly the planes...... the cancelling of delta flying may give them more guys though...

Yes, it's called the search function.

Unfortunately, as more and more regionals slow down on their hiring, we are one of few still taking people, and the only one hiring on the west coast. I am not saying they are making the right choice (it has worked for me, but it most likely won't for those hired in the past 6 months), but they are coming here b/c it offers them what they want. A flying job on this side of the country.

Again, I can't support someone's decision to come here to Mesa today (or in the past 4 months). In fact, I told a good family friend's son the ugly truth when he called seeking advice about his Mesa interview.

He went ahead with the interview, got the offer, and turned it down.

There is still the possibility of PSA getting the 900's. The rumor is still rampant, and we are still upgrading like crazy. We have stopped new hire training to be able to catch up on all the upgrades.

I don't know the exact amount in the bank, none of the folks on line who I've spoken to know either. I see a bankruptcy filing before anything else, which raises the question of does a bankruptcy filing by a regional anyhow void a codeshare partner's obligation to honor that codeshare anymore? In other words, how would that affect our codeshare relationships w/ US Airways and United? That's what I'm wondering. This industry hasn't yet experienced the era of regionals declaring bankruptcy, just curious as to how it will all pan out.
