Interesting it is that inter-island tickets aren't going up much. Mesa MUST keep Go! tickets low to fight the predatory pricing claims. JO is such a jack he even announced that they could make money with $49 & $89 fares...so Go! is between a rock and a hard place - raise prices to make money (and sink themselves in court), or keep on losing millions...

Hard thing will be to prove how they've made money off of Go in court.....

But they don't need to, and in fact proving so would just back Aloha's/Hawaian's claims that Go! was preying their business. The best way for Mesa to win in court would be to show they are making very little to no money...

The lawsuits are not based on predatory pricing, they are based on the alleged fact that mesa improperly acquired and used proprietary business info from both AQ and HA when it entered the market.

But as far as predatory pricing goes...

If mesa can prove that they are or have been turning a profit, then they are off the hook for predatory pricing...you are allowed to undercut the competetion if you can do it fairly (with lower costs) and still make money.

If they have been in the red the whole time, then they can be accused of selling below fair cost to drive the competition out of business...that's predatory pricing. However a startup is expected to lose money, so it's more complicated than if Go! had existed previously and charged higher fares on the mainland.

Just to check in- apparently there is a major epidemic lately of FO's (possibly CA's) not answering their phones on reserve at MAG. Must be a tough job to be CP these days... keep hearing reports of rsv pilots out of position too.
I got the premonition that "it" is coming pretty soon now.
Dang this is stressful.

I guess I'll just sit back and watch the fireworks.

It would suck to lose your job, but if you work at Mesa, for the most part, I think you will be far better of in the long run.
