What do you want ALPA to do? ALPA can't control how Mesa mismanages its way through existence.

Obviously, you know nothing of Mesa. The requirements will be the minimum allowed by the FAA. And I would guess there will be some flat out scary candidates.

I have to admit with much shame that I know this from experience. Before LAMA I was once a Street Captain in the Dash 8. I came from freight and it was a good short term move for me. Several of the people in our class were hired to be captains and had NO, that's zero, nada, none, turbine time. Two had less multi time than I had when I was first hired as an FO on 1900's years ago.

But don't worry the aircraft are fully automated and will take care of themselves. . . dang almost said that with a straight face

sounds like a bait and switch move. the last time they did this, a guy i know took the street captain job and they told him when he got there that oh by way youre an FO instead, naturally he walked out.
