Keep in mind that one of the reasons AE's captain ranks are so senior is because this really is a pretty good place to work. Our rules and pay are industry standard or better across the board. Right now our upgrade time is high but there aren't that many 01 hires left in the right seat, so the somewhat artificially high upgrade time is destined to go down while the rest of the airlines appear to be trending in the longer direction. I'm sure some in this forum (including my initial sim partner who left for another airline) will disagree with this statement, but that is why we have the forums to discuss these things.
I could have made a lateral move a while ago but I decided to stay for the above reasons plus the fact that my pay checks come on time and I know that I can trust both my base chief pilot and ALPA to take me seriously even as an FO.
If you are interested at all in Eagle, do some research. I will be glad to personally help you along the way with any questions you may have. Yes we are hiring with lower mins but at least the training department had the foresight to give additional training to those who may gain from it.

Just curious about moving and living in your base, does a new hire incur all the moving costs if deciding to relocate to their base? Sorry if the answer is obvious, I'm leaving the military and I'm used to "PCS's" being 100% paid for, and figure I shouldn't assume anything and that it is safer to ask. This question is a general question, does not necessarily apply to AE.

No airline I know of pays moving expenses, but you do get 3 days off to move at eagle after completion of IOE (hotels in base are paid for during IOE)
American/Eagle charges you for non-reving (like $10 per leg) so unless you ride on the actual jumpseat you pay. For this reason and many others, I commute on NWA

Ive got the dreaded 'washout" on my record..wouldn't matter if Eagle dropped mins to "100/can you point out an airplane with more than one engin". With the slow down I'm not getting any calls but as much as I'd like to eat and keep my apartment I'm still not applying to Mesa/HoJets.
Anyone know of a good school to teach at or 135 ops running an SIC program?

[email protected] ... send an email to recruiting via this address and they will tell you whether or not to apply. My sense is that they will at least want to talk to you, and it never hurts to show interest with this company.
