Anyone know of a good school to teach at or 135 ops running an SIC program?
As a matter of fact if you are willing to move to North Dakota...there is UND they are hurting for Flight Instructors...or the Fargo Jet Center has a King Air 200 SIC program in Fargo, ND...Thats the only things I know of...good luck

Isn't it true that with the upgrade at eagle being so long, wouldn't a FO at a regional like Gojet with quick upgrade make it to the majors FASTER than one that works for eagle based on thier CA status?? Am I right on this one?
I read alot of threads in the forum that majors DO hire Gojet pilots, contrary to what alot of other people say on here. Maybe they are just jealous.
Am I right with my question?
Do not listen to them. You are correct ! The quicker you get that 1000 PIC turbine, the quicker you become "competitive." Even if GoJet is a nasty outfit, it would get you to your goal faster. Anyone staying at AE waiting for an upgrade is going to be waiting for A VERY LONG TIME...a lot of wasted time I might add.

Not only will you get your 1000 PIC time much quicker than the rest...but you will help turn our profession into as Lil Bush would say "a whole bunch of HUEY!!!" There will be alter ego airlines all over the place by the time I die...I can feel it...so frustrating!!!!!

Also Skyway, out of Kissimmee, Florida, Mesaba, IBC, Airwisky. Sometimes you gotta be proactive and not let it get you down. Its' going to be tougher for all pilots to land that flying job right now, look at all the people/pilots who just came on the market, may be lots more once the dust setttles. Who washed you? I don't know if Comair might give you a chance, maybe Paok could help you out. Chin up man!!!

Everyone needs to keep in mind that ever since the Bob Crandal days at American, the company brutally put other airlines out of business with certain practices and because they have been able to succeed in their business operations with b-scale workers. It didn't matter where they came from, but there was never a shortage in any department. Even today the quest to keep operating costs low continues. This is what drives AE to lower mins. Alot of airlines are fighting for economic survival. You can't fault them for trying to stay alive with the cost fuel surpassing labor as the number one operating costs. B-scale flying is nothing new. My opinnion is if you qualify for the minimums then go for it, for those who complain about it Suck It Up, Drive On and keep Moving Up. But one thing hasn't changed in all the reasearch I have done on this industry, and thats the allegiance that pilots have to one another. If you're labeled as a scab, you're a scab (Sorry GoJets).

Regional flying is all "B-Scale". Period. Please dont fool yourself or others into thinking that one regional is that much better than any other. It maybe be B+, or B-, but its still B-Scale.

Pay me $200k and I would fly a B1900 for the rest of my life. Nobody wants career progression to a 1900 because they have the lowest pay in the industry, but they definitely should be compensated a hell of a lot more than they are.

Once you acquire 1000 hrs PIC turbine you dont autotmatically get a dream job at a major carrier. I know more people who have gotten hired at majors without 1000 PIC turbine, but have had internal contacts walk their resumes in. I know many many CAs with 5000+hrs PIC turbine and cant get hired anywhere due to no college degree, past driving record problems, etc. What happens when you get to GoJets and cant get hired at a major because of an economic downturn? If you had 1000 PIC turbine today where would you go? CAL/DAL/UAL/NWA/FDX/UPS/SWA have all stopped hiring. How many years before they start again? Nobody knows.

Having just under 12,000 hours total time, I have yet to hit 1,000 turbine pic. I am close, however - just shy of 100 hours to go. This industry is crazy. Imagine not being able to even apply at FedEx, UPS, or SWA with 12,000 hours and type ratings on B737/757/767/777? Not that I would, but you never know. A buddy of mine had 0 turbine pic when he was hired by TWA. He ended up flying at AA until he was furloughed, now he is a 757 Captain at a charter airline. Crazy, luck-of-the-draw business we are in, eh?
