In addition, the -700 flying would have resulted in huge concessions.
Republic's contract is amendable right now as well, we're working on the issues of it. It's relatively good (like every other one out there it has some weaknesses) compared to the other contracts signed post-9/11 but not good enough considering the company is making tons of money.

TSA Rocked when i was there 98-07 BABY!!!!!!! if i could do it all over, i would still go there. i met some of my best friends and got some of the best training, flying, weather, and overall aviation experience there. Plus TSA , believe it or not, ( knock on wood) is one of the safest airlines out there.
if you move/live in or within two hours driving distance of the 2 domiciles, I'd go there-- i wouldnt go there and be a commuter-- it will/does suck and it will eventually catch up to you.
being senior didnt hurt though.
I totally disagreed with and had no repsect for 3 things:
1. wrongfully terminating/bullying/misinforming (lying) to numerous union officials/pilots and causing them unecessary hardship in both their personal and professional lives/careers
2. the blantant disregard for the contract and the "we're the company, and we can do what we want"/"we're better than you", "labor vs. mgmt" mentality and approach to things-- especially the grievance process-- please get that repaired.
3. the whole geauxjet fiasco, but it is what it is and they do have seperate websites.....how does that make it in the ruling as one of the deciding factors?
TSA ( or any place) is what you make it and I truly believe that thru my volunteering, contagious positive atitude, great people skills, and lasting friendships, it got me thru 9 years, oh and did i mention humor, drinking, and sarcasm?
I would recommend that prospective first officers think their regional airline choice more carefully than those of the past and take all considerations into account (a 21 y.o should care about things like health insurance) and target 1 or 2 airlines that really fit them and their needs and wants , not just the one that gives them the first offer, only to realize it isnt what you expected and then make another lateral move in less than a year.
Go there, dont go there, but wherever you go, make a positive difference thru attitude, character, and become familiar with the definition of professionalism.
