You will not find much better work rules at many regionals. If you have the time to upgrade you should have gone to great lakes... etc. and immediately upgraded in a T-prop. If you wanted PIC time depending on the mentorship program was not in your best interests. Many regionals will be slowing down in the future and you may simply be happy to have a 121 job period in 6months-1year, so keep that in perspective while you complain.

I knew someone would call it complaining. This is to express my regrets and disappointments with what is advertised versus the actual situation. Thank you.

Work rules are vastly different from regional to regional. Just ask your friends in different regionals and compare. Best strategy is to pick a good regional that is growing and stick with it until you get the bigger offer to move on. That move date could change in the blink of an eye from months to years, especially now that the majors are scrambling to merge, and who knows what will happen when all the dust settles.

People who think this place isn't that bad, have no idea what its like to work for a good employer. This place isn't that bad if you're used to being treated like a piece of feces. Pinnacle management are greedy rats. How can you have a quality life if you're making $2000 a month?

I don't understand why anyone helps this company.

Pinnacle is like a shady 135 company.

I didnt even count 2 people u must be using fuzzy math

Just for the record, I shouldn't be learning how the system works over this forum... why doesn't anyone with authority (mgmt) tell us how it works??? Then you dont have to expect and be disappointed.
Propilot,

The mentor program was never meant to be for street captains. It was designed for FOs that came to 9E with very low time. In order to qualify for the mentor program, you must have at least 1300 hours Pinnacle time and at least 1800 hours TT. Upon the successful completion of 100 hours of flight time with a mentor captain within 90 days, you are eligible for upgrade upon reaching 2000 hours TT. The only way you are going to be a "street" captain is if you come to 9E with more than 3500 TT in which case you will need to fly 100 hours as an FO and will then be eligible for upgrade.

This information is easily available from many sources including several pilots on this forum who generally provide balanced and accurate information. I mean no offense by this comment but many people need to do more research and be better informed before making important decisions.

As for your situation at 9E, I strongly suggest that you read the contract and the LOAs cover to cover. It is every 9E pilot's responsibility - probationary or not - to know and fly by our contract. If you do not know your contract intimately, the company will not hesitate to routinely violate you intimately. It is your responsibility to learn how the system works and you should not expect nor trust management to teach you how to fly by the contract...

Reading your posts, I am concerned that you may not be aware of your contractual rights. I would encourage you to read our contract and then contact one of our union reps with any and all questions you may have.

Good luck to you.

You're right on demand cargo is as bad as things can get. Pinnacle is a close second, but that doesn't mean I would do either one of them again.

I finally realized that life is not a competition about how bad things can suck "i.e sure pinnacle sucks, but not as bad as my last job"

I look at it as more of a progression of things, flying freight on demand REALLY sucks. So I'll be happy with just alittle better working conditions (ie, just sucks), then my next job I'll want better working conditions over the last (only sucks alittle), and so on.

I just wonder how many of the people that bash the heck out of some of these regionals even ever had any other job besides maybe flight instructing. That maybe they really don't know what a lousy job is, or how lousy it can get. Even where I'm at now, I know there are worse places out there.

As a matter of fact yes he does. ...and when he does he uses Charmin Ultra.

I thought that was common knowledge?
