Default Delays into Ski-Country Airports

Ski-Country airports experienced heavy delays this past weekend, with both airborne holding as well as ground delay programs. For those of you that dealt with this, I would like to hear your story (amount of delay on ground, how long you had to hold, weather you had to divert, whether you took off VFR, etc).

Was flying from the west coast to the east coast over the weekend and I while I was on cleveland center I heard a couple guys being told that they could expect to hold over IL, IA, or KS to get into EGE. I think 1 guy amended his flightplan to go to RIL and was told he shouldnt have a problem. Anyways, sounded like a real mess. I flew in and out of those airports for 4 years and I dont miss it one bit, especially around this time of year.

I/we flew into ASE on Sunday from HOU. There was no delay but we were routed directly north to ICT then west to ASE. I asked for more direct but ATC said "no can do amigo". Over DEN we were something like # 12 and slowed way down while they squeezed us in. At ASE they were pushing planes out in between every arrival. I'm a local Colorado boy and during spring break the mountains are full of gapers. No surprise there. IFR in and out. ASE is good at traffic management. Also there was 4 CRJs on the ramp. The 121 world seems to have beefed up service for spring break.

Cool KASE flights

I know we had 3 scheduled flights from ASE to ORD on Sat, my flight canceled and the one before that also, not sure about the last one. Friday had many CX because of WX in KASE. When we got to DBL the vis was less than one mile and 300 VV. Ended up in JNC with a bus for the PAX . Flights to DEN are almost every hour and we are still running some DIR to LAX and SFO. Loads seem to have dropped off a bit from Jan, but this is only the beginning of spring break. Some DEN to ASE flights have been held on the ground for about 30 min. to fit them into the flow.
Saw the GROB SPn cabin demo sitting on the ramp. Did anyone get to look inside?
