I am not being sarcastic towards u or any of the new hire guys, believe me I want you guys to have class dates and for them to continue to hire and have classes as planned, believe me I'm hoping for all of the initial seniority I can get!!!!!
I know you werent being sarcastic... They may slow down on hiring, but they told us right then and there that we were hired... they just said that we would hear about 2-12 days later as far as a class... You are right, they need to sort out the fuel issue, but the guy who interviewed me said that it should be only a short wait... At least thats what I keep telling myself... haha

LOL- I had a guy interview in my group that had 360TT, how he even got invited to interview, boggled my mind. With people like this being interviewed no wonder why they are having trouble filling classes. He pased the writtens N Oral, but seems like the ride in the 700 sim sent him packing. I'm hoping that they will at least raise the mins to 1000TT/200+ME. I was lucky enough to have a sim partner who had previous jet/crew exp. as I did. I'm glad to see that ASA uses the 700 sim to do their flight evaluation, this seems to weed out the weak links before we have to have guys like this in our classes.

Was it D.R. (using initials here for his confidentiality) that gave you the welcome aboard.

Yea, cause those in the know would tell you of the inspiring integrity of D.R. when he was cp. Ahhhhh, nevermind, that was a long time ago.

The thing is pretty easy to fly...with all the glass in todays training aircraft, it is easier for a newbie to fly the CRJ than for someone to go fly a Frasca or the like.

Didnt work that way for the guy im talking about, he said all his time was glass! A 172 with glass and a CRJ are still two diff. machines.

If you can fly a 172 fairly well, it should only take a minute or so to adapt to the extra performance of an RJ-Sim. Now if you're a lousy stick in the Cessna, well that's a different story!

To put ASA in perspective of how fast things change. I left another regional in 2000 to go to ASA for the "quick upgrade" along with many others back in that time from many other airlines. ASA pushed this quick upgrade thing to get guys to come over from other 121 carriers. We were told a 2 month EMB-120 upgrade and hiring of 100 a month, getting 3 RJ's per month. 6 years after that I reflect upon the fact that the hiring almost stopped before i got out of training, I spent 9 months as a reserve FO on the EMB-120, not a captain. All of those growth RJs turned into EMB-120 replacements. Finally upgraded after 2 years only to be downgraded for another 2 years with a base closure tossed in, finally upgrading again after almost 5 years only to sit reserve as a bottom captain until I could get out after almost 6 having never held a line as a captain with the threat of another downgrade a few months before I moved on.

Lots of good people there and some fun times but all I can say it was one hell of a ride and a lesson in making lateral moves. Of course you have to make the best move on the info you have at the time and the rest is out of your control, really it is. Luck and timing go a long way in this career. ASA is a good place but be prepared for anything in this day in age.

I just wanted to chime in on this, maybe classes are being cut back right now just to make room for the ATR guys to get the RJ sim time due to the ATR cutbacks? My buddy at ASA made this point, and it seems logical.
