I've had quite a few friends take opportunities like that in Europe, India, and East Asia. None of them have looked back, and they're making WAY more than I am at Mesaba. The only reason I haven't looked into it is because of family obligations here. If I was in your place, I'd go for the opportunity to get all the JAA certs. With that said, be sure to look up the tax laws and what you're required to file and claim with the IRS. I know basically nothing about it because I've never done it. But, my roommate was a contract worker in Iraq for a year, and he has led me to believe that foreign income can be tricky. Consider consulting with a tax attorney so you understand it fully.
