Tower, here's your phone # to call!
I was on a 1.5 mile final the other day with 19 PX on board, tower told a C-172 " cleared for T.O. 12 right". The CA and I looked at each other and both said "no way" I quickly rebriefed the CA on go-around power and speeds. The 172 used an average taxi speed to get to the runway. The tower then yelled "I said without delay" which I'm not sure if he earlyer said or not. The 172 lifted off the runway the same time the CA started to add Go-around power. The CA saw the 172 lifting off the runway so she pulled power to ideal and we landed. As soon as the 172's tires left the ground, tower knew there was a problem. Tower then yelled at the 172 to "turn right and get off the center line now"! Everything turned out fine, however, it was to close. I know the twin otter flys app. speed like a 182, but there was no need to let that 172 go. If we srew up tower gives us a phone # to write down. How about them, can we give them a phone # (or something like that)?

I'm no controller, but I believe that's refered to as an "operation error", the controller gets an event akin to our checkrides when we screw up.
For phone numbers, just ask ground to give you the tower number. I doubt they'll call you if you give them a number, but hey try it. So, call the tower and ask to speak with the tower supervisor.
If your airline has FSAP program file a report NOW. Otherwise file a NASA report, NOW. If you have union representation, call your saftey rep, NOW.

Do you think he was catching hell? why would he ask then?

Let it go, the tower knew they messed up. You and the capt. were ready for any events that might have happened.
If we make a mistake we would also appreciate not making any issues.

do a go-around every six months for currency. now your good for a while. i disagree with the thought that a decision needed to be made earlier, fly as if you are going to land until you decide not to. i do have a problem with the g/a reverting back to a landing, that is a decision that is fraught with errors
p.s. i understand you were f/o in this situation...

I agree..let it go. If you have to say something then say it to the controller and find out what happened, but forget about the reports.
As you get further along in your career these type of things will happen and when it's your fault, I'm sure youll agree you will have learned your lesson without a string of line checks.

Once you initiate an abnormal COA, follow it through and NEVER change your plan midstream. We're not trained to do that...
