Just got April 7 New Hire in the EMB120 at Skywest
#11
I interviewed on 2/5 and according to the email from skywest there are only 10 people in this new hire class on april 7th.
On a side note, how does the schedule go thru training.
From what it seems like in the pre training material it seems like its 3 weeks in SLC, 2 weeks EMB systems in FAT and then Sims in LGB? is that right? When do you bid for bases? Is FAT an alright bases to live in? Never lived out in Calif (especially moving from Orlando - know it will be a "tad" different)

Unless they have changed something recently training on the EMB consisted of:
1 wk Indoc in SLC
2 wks Systems in SLC
3 days FTD in FAT
6 days Sim in LGB
Congrats and study up if you have time before class. If you know your limitations cold it will make life much easier.
Cheers

I was in SLC last month and C.C. came and talked to us. He said we were overstaffed by about 150 pilots. I'm about 1300 on the seniority list and have been going up about 15-20 every month, so attrition is probably 20-25 per month. UAL, DAL, NWA and CAL have been hiring quite a bit lately. Expect attrition to continue at the current pace or even pick up a bit more.

Why not upgrade? By the time you wait for transition and then upgrade after you sit your 1 year seat lock, you could upgrade on the EMB and have almost 1000 TPIC hrs. Maybe even be interviewing at a Major?
