They hate us. We hate them. It starts early.

ugh...I thought we'd get something...but, then again, I was a ramper for a different airline that went through bankruptcy a few years back and got the same doublespeak and hum'in 'n haw'in and "we'll do what's best for the company and no service will stop" crap...
...more of the same...
I suppose I should get used to it, eh? It is good to see that a lot of captains are finding jobs and most of the FO's have already taken jobs elsewhere.
On a side note...how does Midwest plan to continue the Ironwood and Manistee EAS routes? I saw a February 13th memo in IWD saying that Midwest Connect plans to continue nonstop service to these cities past April 5th in accordance with their agreement with the DOT. I believe the Beech is the only aircraft capable of service to these two cities.

I guess Skywest thought giving you guys preferential hiring was more than gracious . And it screws alot of you guys over too...im sure ya'll are comfortable living in Wisconsin....instead of commuting to an RH base, youd have to stick with SKW and pray u get MKE or ORD.
Like i've said before....its just a matter of time before we are all wearing Skywest or Republic ID's

It would be great, though meaningless, if you all just walked and didn't complete the last 2 months of service. That is essentially what they are doing to you. It's too bad that they are treating Skyway pilots like that. It would be even better if you left in the middle of a trip and left the plane at some obscure outstation.

No doubt they'd easily get a jumpseat home after telling a story about that...
Good luck folks, hope you all land on your feet.

Hey Skyway gys, don't forget that you have sick time. They will pay you your vacation time when you leave, but your sick times just goes away. They want to stick it to you, why don't you stick it back to them?

I don't think SkyWest took all that many people from Skyway. From what I heard not a single flight attendant was hired and only like 6 or 7 pilots were hired. Its too bad that anyone trying to stay in MKE might be in trouble since SkyWest won't be running any classes for the foreseeable future.
As far as sticking it to the company, a lot of us need the money we'll get by sticking around until we figure out what to do with our lives. A lot of CA's need their PIC time as well.
Unlike the general business strategy of our company lately I have a feeling these lay offs were fairly well planned out.
