If Colgan guys who are prounion join the Pinnacle picket line, we WILL be fired.

All I gotta say is action speak louder than words. To those who are going to 'bash' Colgan, join us when the ALPA drive kicks it up again. We need the help educating our pilots.

The ExpressJet guys should be forcing the Colgan guys to sit in their jumpseats and educating them on the benefits of a union while the Colgan guys are going to work. I don't care if there are seats in the back, make sure the Colgan guys are up front listening about the benefits of ALPA.

To the guys at Colgan, no sense in defending ourselves, our actions of voting a union down spoke for us. Instead of getting our 'panties in a bunch', let us vote in a union next time.

Says who and on what grounds? If it's your day off what say does the company have in how you spend your time. Whether you want to walk the picket line or watch donkey porn, there is no way that should fall under the jurisdiction of the company. I don't care if you're an airline pilot or wrangling carts at Wal-Mart, your time is YOUR time. I agree you guys missed your chance to have a say with the company but c'mon, grow a pair and stand up for whats right. And so far, that ain't right!

We are at will employees, they can fire us if we look at the plane wrong.

We have no legal representation under the RLA, so TRUST ME they will fire us if we go picket.

lol this is a assbackwards situation...... sounds like a big ****ing contest to me....after reading all of this i havent heard anyone that is doing anything to help this situation.... if your a colgan pilot and you really really want to have the union to be there for you, do somthing for yoursef...... quit and go somewhere else...there are plenty of unionized regionals out there that are looking for pilots....if your happy stay its really that simple

So how many union organizers got fired? Any?

Imagine what message it would send to management if dozens of Colgan pilots picketed. If you get fired, so what, you'll be better off. And management will be left trying to figure out how to fill those seats. If they decide not to fire you, then I think you will have made your point that you are willing to stand up to management and what is right, regardless of the consequences. Are you honestly so in love with your job at Colgan that you're unwilling to utilize that boney growth in your back...I think its called a spine?

You are missing the point here. Even if we were to show up to picket ALPA wouldn't let us as it is illegal for us to picket under the Railway Labor Act. During the drive some guys on the organizing committee wanted to go to Memphis and picket some events they had out there. It was made very clear to us what we can and can't do. Picketting is NOT one of them when you are unrepresented.

No organizers were fired as organizing is LEGAL and is protected under the Railway Labor Act. Other threats were made, but no one was fired.

Well I'll admit that I don't know the ins and outs of the RLA but I sure will be rooting for you guys when the ALPA drive comes up again. XJT held a lot of informational lunches for Colgan pilots here in IAH. Some of the feedback from the Colgan pilots that stopped by was less than positive but maybe recent events have changed some minds. Hopefully the Pinnacle pilots will be able to get what they deserve and show your pilot group what belonging to a union can do for you.

Maybe the best thing for Pinnacle pilots is to educate the public and media how 400 hr, eager to please puppy is going to fly their families around for 20k a year. I am sure that the public does not like the idea that anyone in working for that pay would dare to call them self professional...
