If you have a trip that touches your vacation, they drop the trip and you get pay-protected. So if my last day of vacation is on a friday, then I bid for a 4-day that starts on a friday, so Ill have off the 4-days plus whatever days off I had after that 4-day

my month of november: worked 5 days, paid for 95 hours. This was only my 8th month with the company. not bad for a first year FO vacation! Gotta love a great contract. I've been home so much during my first year I started to get sick of it. My life as a first year FO has pretty much been clearing my schedule at the begining of the month, pick up trips only when I feel like working, and never getting paid for less than 90 hours. Welcome to the good life!

my former instrument instructor is now at XJT as well...he used to work the system somehow by trading trips, etc. so that he would work one trip each month, then if he got bored, he'd call up and pick up a trip for time and a half, usually one he had dropped in the first place...didn't pay the best, but he got his guaruntee and spent the rest of the time non-revving around Europe and Mexico just for giggles...

can we just call this thread proof of what a good contract, good company, and a union can do? Going back to reading posts from the few happy people at colgan who ignorantly say how great it is there just because they have never been at another airline and dont know any better.
Sorry rant.

I find it funny how you have this hate against Colgan and its pilot group as well as other airlines who may have "taken" away x-jet flying, is this why you are bitter in all your posts.
You are really coming off as soundling like a moron with your comments. Perhaps it is not the Colgan pilots who are "ignorant" but you who are the ignorant one.

Ok, I have vacation "officially" starting January 28th, however with a little manipulation and "bad/day worse" day, have off the 8 days before my "official" vacation. I have two weeks of vacation, and with a little work and bidding a 4-day that starts on my last day of vacation and hopefully the usually 4 or so days built in after a 4-day Ill try to find in Feb, I should be able to have off until somewhere in the early 20's of February........ Anybody else have any other interesting stories of how they were able to turn two weeks of vacation into much more? I know I kinda screwed myself by bidding the weeks back-to-back but I didn't know what I was awarded until it was too late. The best part is, I have a line value for 94hrs, with 4 hrs of deadhead ....................anyway my big plans for my 30 or so days off...........................GROW A BEARD. If anybody else is on vacation I urge you to grow a beard and post a pic on here before you go back to work...........I can't wait, I would imagine I will look very similar to my AVATAR
this just in baroowski.........xjet just pulled a mesa and cancelled vacations the first quarter of 08. sorry, start shavin that beard.
