You fly over a bunch of RV's in a parking lot on short final to 25L at LAX. I think they are for all of the construction workers working on runways and the Tom Bradley terminal. At least that is what I though? I should get one to park there, it would blend in nicely! Who would know!

Knew of an ASA guy that did that in Atlanta for years, totally free employee parking. I didn't see that thing move for at least 5 years. Good idea, if you ask me.
Just gotta' have a good place to go when the "S$#%ers Full!!"

There are a ton of cheap old campers out there that would work out great. The biggest problem I see is emptying the john. Maybe pay the ground crew to make a stop What is the usual charge to park in the employee ramp?

Haha, when I was a new-hire I did a month of standups with a commuter CA who had this old VW camper van parked in the employee lot. The engine blew up so it didn't run, but every time we CANX for Wx we'd grab a few stranded FA's and retreat to the van. One night we sat out there in a blizzard huddled around a little propane heater, drinking rum and cokes out of Big-Gulp cups. Only problem was that we only had two or three cokes to go with several gallons of bacardi...so the big-gulp cups were filled with mostly rum We passed out obviously and then at some point the heater ran out of fuel (PHL in JAN). Not good when I woke up at 0600, chilled to the bone, to go catch my transcon ride home...that was the worst seven hours I've ever spent in a jumpseat

I know a guy who camped out behind his truck on the beach in SBA for the first couple months while he was on reserve there. He'd run in to the ops building every couple days to charge his phone, and I think he had a membership to a gym in town for showers. Not the most glamorous life, but that's a heck of a story to tell people.

I do know of someone that at one point in time slept in his car and in the terminal at Denver. Since they had the gym there to shower he said he had everything he needed. For entertainment he would go hang out at Barnes and Noble in town for many hours of the day.
By the way it was not an RV it was an econo-box.
