I understand what you are saying but Ithink the real issue is that the older pilots like you said got hired at 1500 hours back in the day. I think a lot of them are upset because times have changed and they are mad because they couldnt get on with 500 hours. We have to role with and be willing to change with the times. I hate the current army uniform I weat. I miss my BDU's but a new young soldier comming indoesnt know the difference. SO I just have to deal with it.

that was probably a bad comparison. Sorry. I understand and agree that experience and quality of flying makes you a more proficient pilot. But it will come with time. A Captain is supposed to be a mentor, leader, and professional.

Happy flying....
With age comes wisdom & understanding from life experiences which I believe can be translated to other areas of one's life; i.e. jobs, vocations, however you want to term it.

A 40 or 50 year old wouldn't drive a Porsche 930 the same way a 23-27 year old would. I believe in some instances, the same holds true as far as flying goes.

"DAL4EVER has hit it right on the nose. De727UPS, take note. This guy has been in the industry for a while and flies widebodies like you. He knows what he is talking about. Please read and let it soak in"

I apologize...didn't mean to make that personal. I've taken a lot of heat on that very subject in the past so I may be a bit touchy

Wisdom can go very far, but don't under-estimate the rapid-fire reflexes and sharpness of the young buck.

I've only gone through one 121 training program, and for the PC type ride it was a requirement to fly raw data approaches.

Your argument definitely needs to be more on keeping proficiency, rather than your first part of the quote above.
