And if a CA won't let an FO at least voice their opinion on decisions to be made, well, they suck. Cause that's not good mentoring or good CRM.
You are 100% right....i was just talking about everyday line flying (best case scenario)

Being a sim instructor, you get to see Captains and FO's at their breaking point.....you purposely try and load them up with as many compound failures as you can, just to see how they wil try to make it out. I was always impressed with how most of the captains treated emergencies....they are cool, calm, and collective...meanwhile the FO is sweating bullets reading and doin all the checklist items.

I was fortunate to sit right seat for alot of these guys during recurrent if they didnt come with a Partner...or had an odd number of guys in the class. CRM plays a huge role in emergency situations...if you arent on the same page....survey says...you wont make it. But ill tell you....these FO's come back a year later ready to upgrade and you can just sense they are ready.

The airline world is very similar in that aspect. A Captain has to be 2 steps ahead of everything. A real experienced captain can think 2 steps ahead and nobody can tell hes doin so.

So ive dragged that out and rambled enough i think.
