Default Commuting from maintenance base.

I live in Baton Rouge where ASA has a maintenance base. Does something like this make commuting easier, if I were to get on with ASA, and decide to commute from BTR? For example, volunteering to ferry the airplanes to maintenance, and/or catching rides on the ferry back to ATL? Just curious.

It should not make a difference you will get priority on an ASA aircraft if you are an ASA employee but if the bus is full and someone has the jumpseat you're still waiting on the next ride to come your way.

An ASA employee may be able to answer that better, but I have a good bit of jump seat experience.
