Regionals lowering thier mins, who's next??

Fact or fiction? FICTION. On a recent interview, they hired 2 out of 9 interviewees. Doesn't sound like a company desperate for pilots to me.
Just wanted to post some things I've seen lately. On this forum, Comair may be offering a 17,000.00 bonus plus a 6 month contract to come work for them. (Possibly lower thier mins)
Over at Jetcareers.com, ASA is about to lower thier mins to Comm. Multi come January, 2008. (rumor)
American Eagle has went from 800/100, 500/100, now 400/50.
Anyone "know" or has heard of who's next? It seems that as pilots, we are in a buyers market right now. How is all of this affecting where you will apply?
One last thing, I hear even Expressjet is starting to have trouble filling classes, even though they have slowed their hiring down, and may lower thier mins too. Fact or fiction?

AWAC is starting to get short too. Doesn't mean they will hire everyone they interview. They have to decide if the person might fit the corporate culture and get through training successfully. This is not always apparent by the number of hours on a resumé that gets them invited to the interview.

I'm really happy for you Boilerup. It seems from reading your posts that you were fairly disgruntled in the 121 world. I truly think you will enjoy life outside the union. Good luck in the corporate world.

Aw shucks, guys... "WHY CAN'T I QUIT YOU?!?"
I really enjoyed my time at AWAC flying the RJ, and I'm honored to have served ARW pilots on two important ALPA committees...but this is a good long-term move for my family and I. I'll still probably be posting on this board more than is truly healthy, though.
...and I'm still wondering WHERE IS MY MONEY?!?

For the record, i too know 3 guys who just got hired with spirit...all Fo's and no Jet PIC....2 from TSA and one from RAH....Think about whats gonna happen to the majors in the next couple of years....i mean US Airways hasnt hired since 1987...thats 20 years ago....most of those guys are close to retiring
Personally....i wanna hold out for AA...theres something sexy about that 737-900 in all chrome barrelling down the runway....then agian ive always had a thing for chubby women

negative CFii...the pattern is full...
joking, they'll find some way to attract more pilots, we saw it earlier this year with the signing bonuses etc, bottom feeders will be forced to find alternative methods of attracting pilots as their only selling point will be "base and equipment" equipment not being much of a point anymore since everyone is flying either a CRJ or an ERJ, or a Saab or DH-8, etc. But this coming spring should be interesting, more hiring at the majors, more hiring at the startups, more attrition at the regionals, more hiring at the regionals, incentives for the low companies, lower minimums for the respectable companies, flooded apps at the good companies, dwindling possibilities at the lower ones also...hmm, dunno, but like i said, it'll be interesting.

I heard at JC that ASA is paying for the FSA RJ course if you get hired and pass the training at ASA. Not sure I got all the details right. Anybody else hear more about this? I heard 250/50, plus the course, and you can get on at ASA. Now, that doesn't do anything for raising the bar with respect to new hire experience levels. But if the airline is going to pay for the training, that's a big step in the right direction.
