it was a great event. The airport authority would only let us have 15 people at a time picket so we all got to take turns rotating in and out of the picket line. What i think suprised uncle phil (i wasn't suprised) is how much support we got not only from other pilots, but also from our fellow employees!! Lots of people showed up for the "party" and they all had to pass by us to get to the hangar. We had support from hr people, ground crews, dispatchers, etc, etc. It is no secret to anyone in this company that ALL of the employees deserve a better quality of life and pay. Unfortunantly only a few groups, like pilots and flight attendants (and soon to be dispatchers), can actually fight for whats right, while the other groups are told to take a hike if they don't like it.

We are waiting on the NMB to tell our mec when the next negotiation session will be, probably will be at the end of the month after thanksgiving. supposedly 2 planes going to mesaba this month, but haven't heard anything about it. wont matter to much since we just took deliver of 2 new planes.. in the end we will still have a net gain of planes.

by the way, did you get the job?

Cool

PM me if you could

Yeah I got it!

Man that's good news. I am looking forward to this being a painless contract agreement for both sides obviously that means more food for everyone!

I can't wait to start training! I got hired as FO with the hopes of upgrading to CA when I get the "Big 23" in January.

Is DTW still the junior base for FO's? The CA at the interview said it takes about 30 days to get the base of choice if you dont get it right away. Have you found this to be true?? I can't wait to get this career rolling towards the 121 side of the industry and enjoy the bene's it has to offer.

I take it you are flying the line/reserve right now?

Wow, good thing you asked the board for help with your decision on PNCL.

It looks like you really took all that prevailing wisdom to heart huh? [bang head against wall]

how could it be a great event when one of our MEC guys picked up open time that day instead of picketing. He should have to answer for that publically, and be recalled. Nice leadership

Who and what pairing? The MEC has really started to turn up the heat against MGMT since the company started giving the group crap. I am really interested in hearing on who/what was picked up- PM me.

congrats on the job. You will upgrade as soon as you have the 100 hrs in a pncl rj. DTW is the most junior base for fo's yes. You should be able to get the base you want right out of training, or very soon after. During the winter things always slow down a bit, but come march things go back to busy as usual. I am a line holder in mem bidding about 25 down the list. if you need any other suggestions or questions feel free to ask.

P.S. be aware that pinnacle is in a bit of turmoil right now as far as contract negotiations go (as if you didn't know that). the business side is going good, still getting more planes and the company is still growing. so as far as that goes we are in good shape... now if we can just get them to give us a fair contract it will be win win for everyone.

initials please. i don't recall any body saying that one of our mec guys was flying pick up time when the rally took place. and if he did i would like to think he picked it up before we planned the picket. remember the picket event was planned in under 2 weeks, so not much time for everyone to make plans to be there.

i agree. i just got my strike vote authorization info in the mail today.. not that i didn't like wg but i think our current mec is finally putting the fire to managements feet by all the events they are forming. My first year here we had 1 picket event,, as soon as our new mec took over we have had over 5, in less than a year.

Just keep in mind that on the other forum I was looking for insights and opinions and that all were considered before going to the interview. Thanks
