American Eagle Flow to AA for New-Hires
Well, I haven't heard any offical news from the Eagle guys who were posting previously that there were "talks" in effect for the eagle guys to go straight to AA.........
They were saying this is the time to apply at Eagle, and this was going to be a great thing for the Eagle pilot.............
So someone spill the beans..................is everyone quitting Mesa/SkyWest/Tsa/etc....to come be an Eagle pilot with you "new agreement"?

I've been hearing rumblings of the same thing, from a lot of different sources. While I wouldn't say it's anywhere near a sure thing, where there's smoke, there's at least got to be something CLOSE to fire. Of course, I've been proven wrong in the past, and the consensus inside AND outside of Eagle is mixed at best.

I think this will clear up some of the confusion surrounding the subject.
The pdf was just released by APA.

Yep...now that is clear as mud.
Having been an eagle pilot many many moons ago ( when it was still under APA ).... the telling wording for me is when the LLoyd Hill says that the agreement is in the best interests of American Airlines Pilots...... not that its in the best interests of BOTH parties .... I suspect we will have to wait and see the exact language when it is released, just call me jaded from a less than pleasant experience with APA in 1994 as far as Eagle interests are concerned. I hope it really is a good deal for the Eagle guys who want to flow up, good luck.

The latest TA is definitely a win for the AA pilots. All furloughees will be offered recall before the first AE pilot moves to AA. In May08 AMR will look at the AE seniority list and anyone who is senior to the most junior jet ca will get an AA seniority number at the bottom of the list (unless they already have one issued). The expected junior CA is about a 7yr seniority and there are roughly 1500 pilots senior to him that will get #s. The AE pilots who received numbers will then move to AA at a rate of 25/mo to be mixed in with returning furloughees who are deciding to come back after they have received the first call.
After May08 there will be no more AA seniority numbers issued, no future flowthrough. This will give about half of the pilots at AE #s at AA, but I think it will still be years before there is any movement from this agreement. Newhires can expect upgrades to stay at about 6yrs and will remain stagnant.
I think that after most of the original AA/TWA furloughees are brought back APA will finish a contract with AA and the company will probably get some more productivity from the pilots in one way or another. This means less new pilots needed (nobody from AE moves to AA). Also, age 65 will probably pass in another year or two meaning no new pilots from AE to AA. I also dont think AA will be expanding a large amount, possibly some new a/c to replace the older ones in the fleet, but there wont be an overall need for more pilots on the property. 5+ more years of winter if you are currently an FO at AE.

yeah that letter said absolutely nothing to the effect of future eagle flow up. the only thing it mentioned was that anyone at eagle already holding a seniority number wont be going anywhere until all the furloughs are back, and even then nothing as to when it might happen after that.
certainly they are trying to play the pr game to convince people to make the move to eagle since i think they are desperate. from talking to several buddies that are or were at eagle, its just not the place to be and nothing is happening now to change that.

Wait--I thought that the Eagle flowthrough guys that are already reflected on the seniority list will be called in the order, mixed in with recallees?? I thought this TA was for the ones that are NOT yet on the list..??

that may be the case and sounds about right, but the press release posted in this thread made no mention of it, thats all i was pointing out.

Think it's been mentioned before, but wouldn't the senior captains at AE be taking a pay cut if they moved up to FO on the mainline AA fleet? Since every captain is at least 7 years in, lot are probably maxed out on the AE payscale...i.e. good money and great schedules. Though I think the prospects are dim for any AE guys going to AA, I would imagine not all AE guys would make the move, even if it meant flying a big jet.
Furthermore, any guy who is senior enough to be flowed through (Captain with 2000-7000 PIC turbine time) would have been very competitive at CAL, NWA, Delta, United, Southwest, etc. etc. etc...so one would think that the guys sitting way Senior are happy where they are...if they wanted big jets and even bigger pay eventually, why aren't they at the aforementioned airlines already???
Of the 1,500 or so who get numbers, many might retire, leave, or stay at AE even if they're called up.
