I'm pretty sure their mins are a hard 600/100. I believe the exception is if you've completed a CRJ transition program, such as through ATP. I knew somebody who got on with less than 500TT via that route.

Mins at Express Jet are 600/100. Saab is right...you are 1/2 way there. I would keep building time until you had 600/100. Then I would ask yourself, "Are you ready for the responsibility of taking 50 lives and transporting them safely around the country, at over 500mph, in bad weather??" If you believe you are ready, then go ahead and apply once you hit 600/100.
For most people, it depends upon their experience. If they learned to fly out of a small uncontrolled field in the middle of nowhere, in all VFR weather, and have spend 350 hours flying skydivers in a C182 in good weather, I would believe the answer is no. If they learned to fly in a busy terminal environment, have several hours of actual IFR, and have spend 350 hours instructing new students, then I would believe the answer is yes. But it is different for everyone. You need to make the call!

At the schoolhouse today I heard two classes for November and then none until March. This came from an offline check airman, so you can bet that is inaccurate info.

yeah we are short on CA's and really fat on F/O's at least in EWR, almost +10 every day. With all of the majors hiring we are going to start and see a lot of CA attrition here, but I am tired of guessing of whats going to happen here, between the stock price and CAL potentially pulling more A/C, I am giving myself an ulcer. I am just happy I finished my first year unscathed and looking forward to making a livable wage this year, maybe even time out, if I keep up with the pace I am currently at. I am slo pretty thankful that worst case scenario I am #23xx out of a 3200 or so pilot group...........
