I don't know how your airline operates, but at the two I've flown for the out time has been based on doors closed & brakes released. Engine start doesn't factor into it.

You completely missed my point. I'm saying acars makes it hard to lie about your departure time.

depending on the aircraft there are atleast two or three ways to beat the acars;
1 reset the clock on the maintenance function
2 pull either the vhf 3 breaker (what it transmits on) or the ACARS breaker itself
3 (i know we did this on the atr all the time) push the switch on the parking brake if you can reach it with a pen or finger

I'm considering placing a video camera on the glareshield of the RJ when we point the aircraft at the gate and wait for the rampers to park us. They have the quickness of a sea turtle on prozac. That is if you can get them to leave the card game inside the ops area. Maybe I could share that with Delta Ramp Supervisors as they make their weekly visits to the ASA crew lounge to gather "info" on how to improve ramp operations.

Atlanta ramps are pathetic. No motivation....no supervision....no "give a ******" attitude.......

Oh yeah......put a female ramper out there with the male rampers?!?!?!?........and they wouldn't notice an aircraft if it ran over them. Too busy trying to flirt and grope "shawty"!

I don't blame much on the actual regional airlines anymore.

Do you guys use contract workers?

It transmits OOOI times for us in exchange for the service TAMDAR provides.

Reminds me of the dopes in MEM. Contract (min wage) workers can't seem to hear the mighty SAAB in BETA taxing let alone the "OPS (flt #) on the ground" call. Why call at all? 'Then' they realize that the ground equipment is in the way so they waddle over to move it. My GOD!!!
