Days off
So, how many days off can a newhire expect? When does it get better? If you guys and gals dont mind, can you post your airline, how long you have been there, and # of average number of days off? I'd like to eventually live in base, but I am just trying to see how commutable and liveable this life would be, commuting from MCO.
Thanks for all the help

Depends on luck, company and base. Some guys based in JFK here at CMR get months off at a time while on reserve, while others fly alot (especially the CVG guys). A typical lineholder gets 12-14 days off, and you can drop *mostly* whatever you want for more days off ( and less pay). But that can all change at the drop of a hat and the JFK reserve guys could never stop flying all of a sudden.

Hired Jan. '07 at RAH and I've been getting 15-17 days off for the past 3 months. October is 17 days off with 79 hours and every weekend I'm drinking beer watching football at home. I'm #33 out of 60ish in the CRJ IAH.

10/06 hire at XJT here, bidding #60 out of 122 in ONT, got 17 days off next month, including all the weekends. My line value is in the mid/high 80s, pretty much all commutable 3 days.
