Should I do the ATP Written???

I agree with others here who have said take the ATP written. Many airlines require it for the interview, and it will help you taking the written portion of the interview. If you have the hours for the ATP, I would recommend getting the ATP rating because it could put you ahead of others with close qualifications as you. Most airlines like to see that you have the ATP because it is a rough guage of whether you will make a good training gamble. Airline training is not like the GA training environment and is very time restrictive so you better be prepared to make the cut during the allotted time. ATP training will also make you a better instrument pilot overall.

It seems that if you had taken it and it was documented on your resume (your score that is), that it would look good if you were right at minimums?
I might be wrong, but it seems like something that would add to your resume if the reviewer saw that you had taken the effort to take an exam that wasn't required. Would it give you an edge perhaps? I've considered it myself as well.

Thanks to all of you for weighing in on this. I'm leaning toward taking the ATP Written after seeing the responses. I'll keep everyone posted. I think it will at least get my mind moving in the direction of the 121 stuff, which won't hurt.
