Default GFT Direct Hire F/O's

GFT is now picking up off the street FO's. 2 of em in my class......one has like 2200 in a CRJ from FLG and another guy has about 1100 total. Both went through GFT in the past years and are now back to get a quick upgrade for that turbine PIC. Also a lot of off the street captains are coming in and the for the guys who pay, employment is guaranteed at the end of the 250-300 hours for the program................

WHAT!?! They aren't going to make you pay $30k plus to be a $17k a year FO? Is the world going right side up?!

Not exactly. Why would somebody pay that kind of money to fly a 1900 around? Nowadays, you can pay the SAME money at one of the pilot schools and do the "CRJ/jet training course" instead and get hired to fly a shiny jet with an APU and a flight attendant, for roughly $2-4000 more a year.

If someone really has 2200 CL65 time at Pinnacle they don't need to go to Gulfstream chasing a fast upgrade...they should be a 9E Captain by now.

Don't know but the sticker price on that place was $32k when they came to our school to recruit. They then turned around and paid you $8 an hr for 250hrs of flight time which they worked you at slowly. Then once the 250hrs was up you could try and stay on as an actual FO.
