Dude, the program protects your CERTIFICATE from the FAA. It is not supposed to protect you from the company - although in four years, I don't recall this ever coming up before so apparently the company is not going after too many people in the ASAP program. Would you rather do a carpet dance or lose your livelihood?

Default TLR training date change

I got my training date changed to one that worked better with my schedule. First called training scheduling. They said they could not move date since I had bid and gotten awarded the date that I had, I would have to call a chief pilot.
BEFORE I CALLED the chief pilot I did a bit of homework. I looked through the line awards to get some idea of how many people had been awarded the day that I wanted. The bid packet originally had opening for 8ca/8fo each day mon-fri. The day I wanted was showing about 5 ca that had been awarded that day. Therefore I knew they couldn't object on those grounds.
Then I called the CP and explained the situation and he got the day moved for me. No real big deal.
I did the training and there were probably 13 people there. Instructor indicated the largest class had been 15. There were seats available for at least 16, maybe 20 don't remember. If there were more people they could probably pull in more chairs.
Class started at 9, ordered pizza in so lunch was short, were done by 1 with the TLR portion but then there was a presentation about, ummm, I forget. Something about flaps being extended before taking the runway. Don't remember exactly. Were released by 2 or so.

But hey, first time this has happened in six years, right? Why not blow up the program and leave everyone's certificates exposed. Makes perfect sense.
Was this in reference to LGA yoke/noisemaker deal? I forgot about that. Hmmm. Yes, the ASAP program isn't a get out of jail free card. If this is what is being reffered to, then I believe the pilot should be disaplined. That program was designed as a system where a pilot could self disclose information that could help others and promote safety and in turn as long as criminal law wasn't exposed, or deliberate violation of FARs then it wouldn't be used against you. It doesn't mean that if you stop being professional and forget how to do your job, then it's just a slap on the wrist. I don't know all of the details, but I am curious to hear the details.

The captain on that flight is a complete tool. I flew with him for a 4 day and will never ever fly with him again. The ASAP program, as said before, did not alert the company to this. The FA's, the FO, and pax were all calling the company. If the ASAP program didnt protect you from action from the company then it is no different that ASRS.

How is this different from the ASRS and the NASA form? If it doesn't do anything for us within the company then what are we actually losing here?
